Questions to ask before you choose a Realtor to sell your home
1. Do you work full time as a real estate salesperson?
2. How long have you been a real estate agent?
3. What special training have you had?
4. Are you a member of the National Association of Realtors?
5, What special designations do you possess?
6. Has your production gone up or down recently? Why?
7. How many listings have you had in the past 6 months? How many
of these listings sold?
8. Of the listings that didn't sell, what would you say is the dominant
reason?
9. How many total transactions have you closed in the past 6 months?
10. Do you have a full-time team of affiliates with whom you work
consistently who will see that no details are missed?
11. How many potential buyers would you guess you personally talk
to each week?
12. How many potential buyers would you guess your entire office
has contacted with each week?
13. do you understand specialized contracts such as seller carry-back,
wrap-arounds or cosigners' transactions?
14. Do you belong to the Multiple Listing Service?
15. In what ways will you encourage other salespeople to push my
property?
16. Will you make specialized brochure and/or other marketing material
specifically for my home?
17. If the answer to the last question is yes, how and to whom will
these items be distributed?
18. How many of these marketing items will be distributed each week?
19. Where else will you advertise my home? How often?
20. How will you set my listing apart from the hundreds of others
on the market?
21. What other ways will you expose my property to potential buyers?
22. In your estimation what is my property worth?

24. How did you arrive at that price?
25. Can you assist in my relocation plans (if applicable)?
26. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might save money on sales
commissions, title fees, closing costs, repair costs, inspection fees,
and moving costs?
27. Will you give me a written plan of action that spells out exactly
what we agree you will do to sell my home? Will you guarantee, in writing,
to follow that plan?
28. May I have a list of references, listings you have now, and past
clients? May I contact a couple of these people if I choose?
29. What is your commission?
30. Why do you feel you and your company would be the best to handle
the sale of my property?
